if only it was MATIAS SILPH that made a garden with him, then maybe he could've asked him to ask his girlfriend how to keep the garden clean.

"well, there's a lot of work to do here, apparently."

their time in lilycove took them away from spending time in this garden, having left it in the care of their pokemon. it's not like those pokemon know how to value aesthetics.

he looks around. it seems serviceable enough that they don't have to give up on it, but it just looks ugly and messy. kyle keeps a garden at home, but even that was easier to keep than this place.

one might ask why does cian have so many gardens with kyle. the truth is so simple that it may stump many: he really likes gardening. it's a hobby he picked up after spending time with the fabers (lopezes?) in verdanturf as there's literally nothing else to do there.[break][break]

"probably those nasty snovers. they probably hated it when lots of people took up the mission to eradicate them."

they were out and about during the winter, taking advantage of kyurem's icy weather changing and laying waste to the lands with their snow. he's so glad they're out of the picture now.

"i can wheel in the fertilizer if we need those." out of them, cian probably already has more experience in gardening. "my neighbor will probably share."

handed the shovel, he digs it into the dirt gently, careful with the way he displaces dirt and moves it around, not wanting to hurt the plant and its roots.[break][break]

"mmm yes i think we'll need some, just to be safe."[break][break]

while waiting for kyle to wheel the fertilizer over, he digs around the rest of the plants, getting them ready for when kyle returns.[break][break]

he comes back with fertilizer, alongside other things they need for their small garden. the question that welcomes him back is answered without consulting his own thoughts.

"i only know gracidea since its meaning is, like, gratitude, and it already shares the first few letters with it."

they were popular around this palentines last year as well, when kyle got most of his information about the flowers. other plants do not get as much attention as it did, besides the crystalbloom, which was an outlier for obvious reasons.

"are you quizzing me or were you looking for help?"

it wasn't that cian was difficult to read, but more like kyle unable to guess the situation based on the current setting.

"oh, um..."

he opens up his phone and googles everything about the language of flowers. it doesn't take him long since he knows the right keywords. 'flower', 'language', 'platonic'.

as soon as the results pop up, he lifts his head up from the screen and turns to cian.

"yellow roses," he answers. "it means appreciation and platonic love."

he gets the phone back to his pockets.

"are you sure it's healthier for you to send those while you're still recovering?"

it's been a while, but he knows cian is the type to get overly emotional over things. these things linger, and words don't necessarily reflect the actual emotions underneath the gesture.

he smiles. there was no further need to goad him over the fact unless he wants to turn the situation awkward. cian would take it seriously too, so he'd rather not to opt in.

"i don't think we have those in this garden though."

he turns to their patch of plants.

"we can ask the neighbors if they have some," he answers. "there's probably someone around here that supplies to flower shops. you can even do the bouquet yourself, or one of those fancy flower arrangement baskets, or whatever those are called."

kyle picks up a shovel afterwards and plants it on the ground.

"but that's after we fix this patch."
